JHS Seniors: With the long Thanksgiving Break coming up, I wanted to pass along some things you can work on in preparation for life after High School.
1) Of course spend and enjoy time with family and friends.
2) Complete and submit college admissions applications. Including the essays that they use for their scholarships. On a follow up to this check the scholarship link on college website that you are applying and see if they have any supplemental scholarship applications. If so, complete those as well.
3) Complete and submit your Oklahoma City Community Foundation scholarship applications for the Community Foundation Scholars Scholarship and the Jones High School Scholarship. Both have deadlines of December 1. On December 1, they will have approx 150 other scholarships open that I would encourage you to appy.

JHS Seniors looking for scholarships: Make sure you check with your parents and see if their employers offer scholarships to employees dependents. Many do and you need to make sure you are getting those applications complete.
Also if you a senior and are Native American and have a CDIB card, make sure you are checking with your tribal headquarters regarding scholarships and educational assistance. I believe every tribe in Oklahoma has scholarships and educational assistance for their tribal members.
