JHS SENIORS ADMITTED AND PLANNING TO ATTEND THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA:
Incoming freshman for fall 2024 can now schedule a New Sooner Orientation (NSO) day. New Sooner Orientation is the first step in OU's orientation process. During a student's NSO, they will be advised, enroll in their first semester courses, and learn about OU resources that will help them through their time at OU. There will be in-person and virtual New Sooner Orientation days for students to choose from. Parents/supporters are encouraged to attend.
Before a student can schedule a New Sooner Orientation day the following items must be completed:
Set up OU account and email at one.ou.edu/activate
Submit the enrollment deposit
Take the New Sooner Survey
If available, submit official ACT or SAT scores directly to OU
In order for students to be placed into the right classes at OU during NSO, students MUST send official ACT or SAT test scores directly to OU. Without sending official test scores for verification, students will be required to complete all three course placement assessments, including math, reading, and English. However, once we have official scores, depending on the score, students may be excused from these assessments.
New Sooner Orientation happens regularly throughout the summer (May through July). The deadline to schedule a New Sooner Orientation day is June 15, 2024.
