BASKETBALL STATE TOURNAMENT TICKETS GO SALE TONIGHT 7P.M.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations on your GIRLS entry into the OSSAA State Basketball Championships. My name is David Vorwald and I am the Ticketing Director for the OKC Fairgrounds. With the Covid restrictions and seating limitations placed upon us by The City of Oklahoma City, and in an effort to ensure each school and team gets enough tickets for the families of the players, cheerleaders and coaches, the OSSAA is allocating 500 tickets per game to each school’s qualifying team in a Link with a Private Password. Seating capacity for the Jim Norick Arena is 2128. The Link and Private Password will allow the families of the players, cheerleaders and coaches to purchase up to 4 tickets each. Ticket prices this year per game are only $5 per single game. (Kindergarten and older) (Note: there is a $1 convenience fee on each ticket purchased online) There are no “sessions” this year-the arenas will be cleared between each game. OSSAA Playoff Passes will not be valid for the 2021 State Basketball Championships (for either the Girls or Boys). OSSAA will be provide the Administrative Passes for each school-not our office. JHS Seniors: The Eastern Oklahoma County Rotary Club has awarded scholarships to area seniors in the amount of $500 for the last several years. We look forward to continuing this worthwhile project this year even with the pandemic. I have attached the application as well as an information sheet. JHS Seniors interested in UCO: See this information about reduced application fee! Right now, our application for admission fee is only $5! As you may recall, our typical rate is $50, so that’s quite a savings for your students! All your students have to do is use the promo code of “BRONCHOBOUND” when they apply to save $45, and this code is good through April 1st, 2021. We all know how difficult this past year has been, and we’re hoping the temporary lowering of our fees will encourage and motivate your students to consider applying to UCO. As a reminder, we have extended our scholarship deadline to April 1st! To be considered for scholarships, students need to complete the scholarship questions in the online application and submit their high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores.

Congratulation to the JHS Girls Bowling team! The Jones High School girls bowling team qualified for State last week for the first time ever. They were Regional Runner up at the Regional tournament. This past weekend they competed in the Oklahoma High School State Bowling Tournament in Enid. They were seeded 3rd and won their matches getting them to the semi-finals. They finished 3rd and gave a great showing in their first State tournament as a team. The team consists of Matlyn Warner, Makena Cruz, Kadence Park, Mia Edmonds, Riley Smith, and Lily Keester. We are looking forward to another run at State next year. Matlyn Warner made All Conference, is on the All Star Bowling team and was selected as an All State Bowler #ITSAGREATDAYTOBEALONGHORN
