Rose State College is hosting an outdoor college fair we will be hosting on Saturday, April 24th from 9:00-12:00. I currently have over 30 college, military, trade, and community resources that will be in attendance to help your students find the right path for them. My name is Sydney Vu and I am the Chair of Outreach with the University of Oklahoma’s Minority Health Sciences Conference executive team. MHSC is OU’s very first conference geared towards minorities in STEM exclusively for high school students from across Oklahoma. Our purpose is to Educate, Empower, and Represent - disadvantaged and marginalized high schoolers that want to pursue the Health Sciences at The University of Oklahoma. Our informative and interactive conference will allow students to explore a multitude of career options in the Health Sciences while also utilizing resources and methods to more easily access higher education at the University. Students that are now in 7th through 11th grade need to find an academy that interests them and apply. This is a wonderful opportunity for students who think that college isn’t for them; these are hands on, fun-filled academies. Students will find out that STEM is exciting and fun! There are commuter and residential academies-they will get to experience what college is like. Please encourage and help them apply. Oklahoma State Fair Scholarship Established in 2002, the Oklahoma State Fair Scholarship Program has provided nearly $250,000 to deserving and qualified Oklahoma youth through annual, individual awards of $2,500 each. Beginning in 2015, the program selects 10 winners to receive a one-time award of $2,500. The US Naval Academy is holding its world-class Summer STEM Camp and Summer Seminar this coming June in a virtual format, and we would love to have more students from your school join us! Summer STEM (https://www.usna.edu/Admissions/Programs/STEM.php) is for current 8th, 9th and 10th graders, while Summer Seminar (https://www.usna.edu/Admissions/Programs/NASS.php) is for current 11th graders.
