Dear Longhorn Family, I’m sure everyone is still trying to squeeze all you can out of summer, but I’ll interrupt your fun with a quick school update. As we are rushing to put the final touches on the new Early Childhood Center, we’re running into some challenging material supplyline issues. The bottom line is the ECC will not be ready to open on the first day of school. In fact, we’re planning on delaying the opening for at least a month. As disappointing as that news is, I promise that this school is spectacular. Everything that is in place has turned out better than we imagined. The playground area is special, the rooms are large and inviting, and the gym is exactly what the elementary has been missing.  We will continue to push everyday to complete this project as quickly as possible; however, we also refuse to cut corners or change to inferior materials that happen to be available. This is a school that we will be proud of for generations.  Please enjoy the rest of your summer. Another first day of school will be here before you know it.  It’s a Great Day to be a Longhorn!!
