🏀Senior Night activities will begin at 5:45 tomorrow, before the girls' game!🏀

JHS Students that are in NCAA Clearinghouse for recruiting purposes: Just a reminder the NCAA will not take your ACT/College Entrance Scores from your transcript or from high school. YOu need to have ACT send directly to NCAA. In addition if you have trancripted grades from any school other than Jones High School(excluding college) you will need to reach out to that school and have them send your transcript to NCAA. They will not accept other schools transcripted grades that are on a Jones High School Transcript. ( Example: If you were at Harrah your Freshman year and then Jones Sophomore through graduation, your Jones Transcript has all four years but they will only pull the Jones courses and grades from the Jones Transcript. You will have to contact Harrah and have them send your Harrah transcript to them)

JHS Seniors: Make sure you are keeping the counseling office informed of all scholarships you have been awarded.

JHS Seniors: Reminder that completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA) is a requirement for graduation. Below is information to help with this process
You and parents will need to create an FSA ID This will serve as your electronic signature. It takes about 3 days to get this information back. you will do that at this website
https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch
Once you have that you will go to this website and complete FAFSA. Your parents will have a part to do on this when you complete your piece
https://studentaid.gov/
IF you or parents do not want to complete FAFSA, You need to see Mr. Moses for state approved alternate to meet this graduation requirement

JHS Seniors: Just a reminder the Longhorn Team One Scholarship is open and must be submitted before March 28.. Application at link below.

JHS Students: College Entrance Exams are still important for college admissions, college course placement and most importantly scholarship dollars. Just like anything else you do in life the more you do it and practice it the better you get at it. Most students prefer ACT but SAT is also an option if you prefer that exam. There is still time for you to register for the National ACT exam in April. If you want to take this exam you need to get registered by February 28. You can create account and register at link below. Once you create this account remember your login because this is where you will register for all future ACT exams and where your scores will be housed. ACT Prep can also be found on this website. I have also attached document with Steve Bowlware's contact information. HE does ACT prep before every National ACT. Another Option for ACT Prep is Chad Cargill. His website is also listed below

JHS Seniors
I am the Scholarship Chairman for the Sequoyah Chapter of the Society of Defense Financial Management (formerly known as American Society of Military Comptrollers), a non-profit educational and professional organization at Tinker Air Force Base. Each year SDFM Sequoyah Chapter awards scholarships to two local graduating high school seniors with high academic achievement planning to pursue a field of study directly related to financial/resource management (business administration, economics, accounting, and finance). This year two scholarships will be awarded, each in the amount of $1,000.00.
In addition, the two scholarship winners will also be submitted to the SDFM National Chapter Scholarship Program for the opportunity to earn additional scholarships.
Attached is the SDFM Sequoyah Chapter Scholarship Program information, which includes the selection criteria, submission information and due date. Please provide this information to any graduating high school senior that may qualify for the scholarship and encourage them to submit applications by the due date of 14 March 2025.
