READING

  1. Into The Book - A reading comprehension resource that focuses on eight research-based strategies: Using Prior Knowledge, Making Connections, Questioning, Visualizing, Inferring, Summarizing, Evaluating and Synthesizing. Very Interactive and kid-friendly. 

  2. Read Theory - A vast library of reading comprehension content. Their approach fosters improvement by automatically meeting learners at their own, individual ability levels with online reading comprehension quizzes.

  3. International Children's Digital Library - The best in children's literature from around the world available online free of charge. Many cultures and languages are represented in the digital library.

  4. Bookshare - Bookshare makes reading easier. People with dyslexia, blindness, cerebral palsy, and other reading barriers can customize their experience to suit their learning style and find virtually any book they need for school, work, or the joy of reading.

  5. Smithsonian Tween Tribune - Offers non-fiction reading context aimed at the middle school reader. 

ESL

  1. Easy World of English - This website is divided into four sections: grammar, picture dictionary, reading, and pronunciation. It offers three different levels depending on student ability.

  2. BBC Learning English - It has a wide variety of materials and resources for all levels of language learners. The material offered is very appealing and student-friendly, with a combination of media such as videos, podcasts, quizzes and written text.

  3. ESOL Courses - Practice your English with their free interactive listening lessons, reading exercises, quizzes, & games for beginner, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, & advanced levels. 

  4. ELLLO (English Listening Lesson Library Online) - Offers over 2,500 free listening lessons. Students can access lessons for both beginners & intermediate-advanced students.
